Pm Better To Give Funds Directly To Rakyat Than Mps Who Badmouth Govt

PKR CONGRESS | The government will not channel parliamentary allocation through MPs who badmouth the government, according to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
Instead, he told the PKR National Congress 2023 today that the funding will be disbursed directly to the rakyat through government development programmes.
"(The opposition) claimed that we are denying the MPs of their right. This is not true, as we have never touched their allowances.
"For parliamentary allocation, we have increased its amount including for constituencies that are under PAS or even Bersatu.
"We continue to give... For schools, and mosques, we continue to carry out development projects,” he said.
"However, we are not channelling the allocations through the MPs. Why should we channel the money through MPs who badmouth us, who plan to topple the government every day? The important thing is we still give to the rakyat," he added.
The PKR president was delivering his winding-up speech at the congress held in Putrajaya earlier this evening.
His remark came about as Anwar refuted the opposition's allegation that the government had bribed four Bersatu MPs into supporting his leadership.
‘Go ask from your adviser’
The Tambun MP further criticised the opposition for seeking assistance from the government after all the accusations.
"You accused us of having smeared Islam and betraying the Malays. So go and find someone else (to help you).
"You have even appointed a particular figure to be your adviser, so ask him to find help for you.
"This was the same person who (allegedly) stopped allocation for religious schools and who went against syariah laws. And this person is more Islamic than us? Then you go to them," he added.
In his speech, Anwar also ordered party leaders at all levels to sign up for the PKR cooperative called Kira.
He said the cooperative is an initiative that transcends political agenda and is aimed at elevating the economic well-being of its members. - Mkini
