Pkr Youth Seeks Talk With Students To Understand Burning Anger For Pm

PKR Youth chief Kamil Abdul Munim is seeking a meeting with student activists and the Sekretariat Rakyat Benci Rasuah for a discussion to get a better understanding of their anger.
ADSKamil said he reached out to the group’s representative Brendon Gan, but has yet to receive a response.
“I’ve long asked friends to arrange it and dealt with Gan directly regarding a meeting and discussion.
“It’s just that there hasn’t been any feedback. The last request was for a debate. But I want to organise a meeting first. I want to understand what they’re so angry about,” he told Malaysiakini today.
Previously, PKR central leadership council member Maszlee Malik urged the Youth wing to “put aside their ego” and meet with the protesters who burned a caricature of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in Sabah.
He said it is necessary for the PKR Youth leaders, who were once student activists who participated in protests, to meet with the Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) student group to clear up misunderstandings and understand the students’ demands.
At the same time, the former education minister said he is also open to meeting them to discuss the issues that have triggered the group’s outrage.
Criticising Anwar’s govt
The burning of Anwar’s caricature took place during a protest at UMS in Kota Kinabalu on June 22.
The caricature was accompanied by a banner that read “Madani, Protector of Corruption in Sabah”.
Spokesperson for the Sekretariat Rakyat Benci Rasuah Fadhil Kasim said the banner symbolised a sharp critique of Anwar’s administration, which they claim has failed to deliver on promises related to institutional reforms.
A representative from the sekretariat, Fakrurrazzi Khairur Rijal, was also scheduled to debate with Umno Youth chief Dr Akmal Saleh on the issue of burning the caricature. However, the debate was postponed after Akmal’s father fell ill.
Akmal had called the students “stupid and rude” for burning the caricature. -Mkini
