Speaking to reporters after lodging the report at Dang Wangi police station, he claimed that these culprits have committed several offences under the Penal Code.
“MPs are elected by the people and we have a duty to attend Dewan Rakyat sittings. As the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong stressed, Parliament needs to convene,” he said.
Accompanying him was Batu MP P Prabakaran, also of PKR.
Earlier today, opposition MPs had gathered at Dataran Merdeka to begin a march to Parliament to protest against Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and his Cabinet, calling for their resignation.
Among those who took part in the march were opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim, former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Warisan president Shafie Apdal, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng, MUDA’s Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman and Amanah president Mohamad Sabu.
Shouts of “Hidup Rakyat” and “Daulat Tuanku” rang from the group of MPs, who on a number of occasions had to speak to police to allow the march to proceed.
But they did not manage to enter the Parliament grounds as FRU personnel blocked the entrance to Jalan Parlimen.
The MPs and their supporters eventually dispersed at about 10.40am, with some returning to Dataran Merdeka. - FMT
