Perak Targets Vape Ban In October Says Exco
State exco A Sivanesan says the move to ban the sale of electronic cigarettes and vape products will ultimately benefit the public, in terms of health.

Perak human resources, health, Indian community affairs and national integration committee chairman A Sivanesan said a working paper on the matter is being drafted by the state health department, Bernama reported.
“We have instructed the department led by its director Dr Feisul Idzwan Mustapha to ensure that this working paper can be completed as soon as possible.
“The working paper will also be brought to the state executive council to decide on its enforcement, which I am targeting around October,” he said.
Sivanesan said this when met after officiating the “Orthopedic Symposium Programme: Latest Developments and Best Practices in the Orthopedic Field”, organised by the Perak Community Specialist Hospital at the Kinta Riverfront Hotel in Ipoh today.

Saarani said the matter had been raised in the state executive council but several details still needed to be refined.
Sivanesan said today that while the move may cause concern among vape operators (vendors), it would ultimately benefit the public, particularly in terms of health.
“We are prepared to receive complaints on this matter, but as long as it benefits the people, we will move forward,” he said. - FMT
