PDZ Wins RM600 Million Contract : Limit-up This week? | PDZ Holdings Bhd is becoming a hot stock now having recently won a logistics contract worth about RM500 million or RM600 million from a Chinese e-commerce operator
There has been lots of talks lately that PDZ has inked a deal to provide logistics services to the e-commerce platform operator with rapid increase in online sales due to the global Covid-19 pandemic
Some of the top e-commerce companies in China are Alibaba, Taobao, Tmall and JD.com but it is unclear who PDZ had signed with
PDZ has been seeking to expand its logistics business and has been sourcing for contracts in Malaysia and overseas
It is understood PDZ had been lobbying for the logistics contract in China after hearing about it from early this year
With this contract in hand it is set to expand PDZ's net profit and revenue in the coming quarters
PDZ registered higher revenue of RM1.22 million for the current quarter ended March 31, 2020, compared to the preceding year corresponding quarter of RM1.04 million, due to the higher volume transported by the firm between January and March
It recorded a net profit for the three months under review, compared to the preceding year corresponding quarter mainly due to the higher revenue and lower administrative expenses
PDZ said after filing its results with Bursa that the economic activity is expected to gradually pick up in second half 2020 and to register a positive recovery in 2021
Now there is also talk that the stock will trade limit-up this week. The stock has been trading in the range of 3 to 4 sen since late 2018 and started to rise in May this year from 4 sen on May 15 to close at 8.5 sen yesterday
