Pas Umno Youth Chiefs At Loggerheads Over Malacca Fallout
PAS Youth chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari has denied stating that his party wants to jeopardise BN's strongholds, in taking a swipe at Umno Youth chief Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki.
"There is nothing in my statement stating that PAS intended to jeopardise BN's fortresses.
"Please read properly before commenting, you are a Youth chief," Fadhli said on Facebook.
Fadhli (above, left) was responding to Asyraf's remarks to a report in a Malay daily that quoted Fadhli's previous Facebook post on the outcome of the Malacca polls which saw PAS losing in all eight seats it contested in, with seven candidates losing their deposits.
Describing the statement as arrogant, Asyraf claimed that PAS stood a chance to win three seats if it had accepted Umno's invitation to cooperate, including in Bukit Katil to face off against Amanah.
"Learn how to find the original statement, copy-paste into Microsoft Word, use the Ctrl+F keys and find the word 'gugat' (jeopardise).
"What you will instead find is, 'If Pakatan Harapan continues to play with sentiments that can jeopardise national harmony and the Keluarga Malaysia unity, it would not be impossible that only the DAP will remain, while the other parties will fall," Fadhli said.
Resharing his original Facebook post quoted by Utusan Malaysia, Fadhli said it was the Malay daily that had used the word gugat (jeopardise) in describing PAS' supposed intentions.
"Please do your homework, maintain our standards.
"Oops sorry, contested twice in an election and lost both times, what do you expect?" added the Pasir Mas MP.
PAS had chosen to remain and contest the Malacca polls under Perikatan Nasional's banner, abandoning Umno as its Muafakat Nasional partner. - Mkini
