Pas Threatens To Lodge Police Report If Pmx Doesn T Deny He Illegally Funded Pkr Branch

PRIME Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has been given an ultimatum to officially deny a viral video purportedly showing PKR Wangsa Maju branch chief Lai Chen Heng admitting to receiving funding from the former but was ‘advised’ not to declare/audit the proceeds to avoid any money trail.
PAS information chief Fadhli Shaari who exposed the matter said this is not just a matter of internal PKR discipline but involves possible violations of national laws including Section 4(1) of the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001 (AMLA 2001).
“If there is no prompt official denial or open explanation from Anwar or the top PKR leadership, massive police reports are likely to be lodged nationwide against PMX to demand a fair and transparent investigation,” the Pasir Mas MP  pointed out in a media statement.

“More worryingly, the (35-second) video shows that the funds were deliberately not deposited into official accounts and classified as ‘dirty money’ so that they could not be traced through the banking system.”
In this regard, Fadhli further urged the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) to immediately open a comprehensive investigation into the “serious allegation” which surfaced ahead of the PKR national leadership poll for the 2025-2028 term this Friday (May 23).
PAS information chief and Pasir Mas MP Fadhli Shaari“At the same time, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) must act immediately and not wait for political orders to commence an investigation into the possibility of corruption and money laundering,” justified the PAS lawmaker.
“The people have the right to know the truth and cannot be left to continue to be lied to in the name of the reform struggle which is now seen to be increasingly filled with hypocrisy.”
Meanwhile, PAS mouthpiece HarakaDaily described the video which is now widely circulated on social media as raising serious questions about the integrity of the PKR leadership, “more so as the name of a famous Malaysian business tycoon was implicated as a donor to the PM”.
“More worryingly, the revelation came from the highest leader of the party branch itself and until now, there has been no direct denial from Lai Chen Heng regarding the content of the video,” reported HarakahDaily.
“He only criticised those who spread the video, without denying that he was the individual in the recording.” –  Focus Malaysia
