Pas Leader Warns Anwar Of Historic Mistake Downfall With Trump Meet

THE federal government’s decision to welcome United States President Donald Trump’s visit to Malaysia will go down as the “worst chapter” in Prime Minister (PM) Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s administration and could lead to his downfall, says PAS information chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari.
Speaking at a rally outside the US Embassy here to protest Trump’s arrival for the ASEAN Summit, Ahmad Fadhli accused Anwar of “bringing a terrorist leader onto Malaysian soil”.
He warned that the PM “will not remain long in power” for allowing Trump’s visit.
“We want to remind the government that the decision to welcome Trump will go down as the worst chapter in Anwar’s career as PM. That is why the current PM of Malaysia will not remain long at the height of power.”
Ahmad Fadhli said PAS had congratulated Trump after his election win but had also urged him to change US policy on Palestine — which, he said, only worsened under Trump’s leadership.
He questioned why Trump chose to attend the ASEAN Summit in Malaysia when he had skipped previous ones in Laos and Indonesia, calling it a “provocation to Malaysia’s pro-Palestine stance”.
Furthermore, the Pasir Mas MP denounced the act of shaking hands with “blood-stained hands of the oppressor”, branding Trump a “war criminal of the 21st century”.
The protest, organised by PAS Youth, drew hundreds who condemned Trump’s policies and voiced solidarity with Palestine. — Focus Malaysia
