Panduan Viva Voce Presentation –  Pesanan, 10 slides dan 33 soalan power | Viva voce is a Latin phrase literally meaning "with living voice" but most often translated as "by word of mouth." It may refer to: Word of mouth. A voice vote in a deliberative assembly. An oral exam, especially in a thesis defense in academic.
Itu lah viva voce meaning I found from Google hahaha. Biasa lah kan budak final year degree, pelajar master dan PHD memang sinonim dengan viva ni. Its like a final presentation for the FYP (final year project).
Walaupun den tak sambung master (for now) apatah lagi PHD.. but I hope this entry bermanfaat for those yang sedang mencari ilham dan ilmu bagi membantu presentation viva andaa~ May it guide you to the right path hehehe.

Tujuannya adalah antaranya:
- buktikan anda menguasai kerja-kerja penyelidikan anda sendiri- menguji/ clarify pemahaman anda dengan kajian yang dibuat dan isu-isu lain dalam konteks yang lebih luas- memberi peluang anda memberikan apa sahaja rasional atau menjelaskan kemusykilan pembaca/ examiners
Jadi viva adalah satu forum untuk anda tunjuk penguasaan secara verbal dalam masa 20 minit dan jangan lebih 30 minit. Anggaplah  examiners telahpun membaca dan menyediakan laporan thesis anda sebelum viva, so  jangan nak jelaskan secara detail. Ini akan membosankan examiners atau akan membuka ruang pertanyaan baru dalam kepala examiners.
Oleh itu slide yang anda sediakan ringkasan apa yang nak dijelaskan secara verbal.. malah anda akan kelihatan cuba “membengongkan” examiners jika menyediakan slide yang wordy then membaca setiap perkataan satu persatu – oh betapa boringnya viva sebegitu!
Aku tahu… anda berkobar-kobar nak ceritakan semua yang dibuat, tambahan 3 malam anda tak tidur untuk cuba hafal script tapi itu BUKAN MATLAMAT viva voce dan examiners pun TAK HINGIN nak tahu semua yang anda dah buat.. sebab mereka pun patutnya dah baca thesis tu.
Aku cadangkan anda sediakn 10 slides dah memadai menggunakan PowerPoint. Untuk tulis Point yang Power sahaja. Jangan cuba nak jelaskan semuanya.. atau takut ada yang tertinggal sebab examiners masih boleh bertanya jika nak tahu apa-apa yang mungkin anda tak sentuh dalam persembahan.
Aku merayu.. tolong jangan copy-n-paste apa yang tertulis dalam thesis.. Tolonglah tulis point-point sahaja secara ringkas. Ingat.... viva adalah persembahan BEBAS... bukan terikat dengan mana-mana prosidur.

Satu lagi.. tolong jangan humble tak bertempat seperti berkata “Kajian ini masih jauh dari perfect bla.. bla..” atau “Metodologi kajian ini banyak kelemahan..”
Biarlah examiners yang komen… dan anda relax jangan pula panic! Ramai-ramai kawan-kawan anda yang kena belasah tapi akhirnya tersenyum dengan major correction!
Semasa present:1. Ini sesi anda sendiri so relaks brother relaks!2. Berlatih banyak-banyak supaya idea kau clear dan mengalir lancar3. Dengar soalan baik-baik, minta penjelasan kalau kau tak faham.4. Kalau soalan yang ditanya tak terjangkau dek akal sebab Prof tu sengaja nak tunjuk kehebatan dia.. be honest. Jangan kelentong pulak.. What is the main problem/ issue are you going to tackle?5. What is the main debates related to the problem/issue?6. What is the current debates related to the problem/issue?7. Generally, what the literature says about the problem/ issue?8. How are you going to tackle the problem/ issue?9. What is the contribution (to the body of knowledge) of your study in your field?10. What are the main problem statement for your study?11. What is your expected finding before starting your study?12. How did you review previous studies?13.
