OPPO’s 68th Merdeka campaign empowers young Malaysians to pursue their passions and live life on their own terms, in a cinematic portrait of six of Malaysia’s Gen Z icons, such as FUGŌ and Jovynn.

 



 
OPPO Malaysia marks the nation’s 68th Merdeka celebrations with Generasi Bebas, an inspiring video series that celebrates the passion and purpose of young Malaysians. Featuring five Generation Z icons – each of whom represent the diversity of interests, commitments and personalities of our youths, the film series captures inspiring moments and portraits of these individuals and their passions at work, through the lens of the OPPO Reno14 series.

Generasi Bebas reflects OPPO’s overarching slogan, ‘Make Your Moment’, empowering Generation Z Malaysians to embrace technology and pursue their passions with authenticity and technology. The series inspires young Malaysians to celebrate their freedom, and live life on their own terms, through portraits of their favourite artists such as Jovynn and FUGŌ - both of whom transformed their love for music into bridges that connect people and communities across genres and backgrounds.

It also spotlights Malaysians who channel craft into service, self-expression, and joy: Harmitra, a performer and educator who traverses across genres of dance, from classical Indian rhythms to hip-hop and contemporary beats; Mohd Danishaizz, a young firefighter who finds meaning in protecting others, and Farah Irdina, a racing driver who embodies the spirit, joy and freedom of driving.
