Open Letter To Pmx For Transparent Thorough Probe Into Suspicious Death Of Civil Servant Lim Ju Vynn

DEAR Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim,
I hope this letter finds you in good health. I am writing to you today with deep concern regarding the tragic and mysterious death of Lim Ju Vynn, a dedicated civil servant serving as a customs arbitration officer at the Finance Ministry (MOF) and previously as deputy public prosecutor (at the Attorney-General’s Chambers).
The media reported that his body was found in his office at the MOF in Putrajaya with both his neck and feet bound with cable ties. It is believed that Lim had been dead for at least several days before his body was discovered.
Strangely, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) – despite having declared the cause of death as “compression of the neck due to ligature strangulation” – have classified the case as a sudden death.
The fact that a well-respected civil servant was found in such a condition within the MOF – a protected and high-security government building – raises serious questions.

It is difficult for any reasonable individual to believe that this could simply be a natural or unexplained death.

What is even more alarming is the police’s blatant indifference in handling this investigation.
The decision to classify this case as a “sudden death” in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary not only undermines the credibility of the investigation but also raises serious concerns that a possible deliberate cover-up may be underway.
The police’s handling of this case is nothing short of an embarrassment and has sparked widespread public outrage, casting doubt on the PDRM’s willingness or ability to pursue the truth and ensure justice is served.
There are growing concerns among the public (with legitimate cause) regarding the involvement of influential individuals, possibly from the higher echelons of society or the government, in this matter.
If such an incident were to occur in the private sector or in an ordinary citizen’s office, it is unquestionable that the police would have swiftly arrested all individuals remotely involved, including the landlord and pursued remand orders in the name of investigation.

The Malaysian public deserves a crystal-clear, unequivocal, and irrefutable explanation. With the utmost urgency, I implore you to intervene and mandate a comprehensive, transparent and unflinching investigation into this incident to avoid the loss of trust in our country’s system.
Every facet of this case must be rigorously scrutinised and no individual or institution – no matter how powerful or influential – should be allowed to escape the full force of accountability.
This case must not be permitted to slip into the abyss of indifference, obstruction or cover-up. Lim Ju Vynn’s family and the entire nation are entitled to the truth and justice.
Thank you for your attention to this pressing matter. I remain hopeful that under your leadership, Malaysia will uphold the rule of law and the integrity of our justice system.
Yours faithfully
