Of Zahid S Portrait And Tiger Resignation
WHEN you are on leave, you usually don't remove your belongings from the office, let alone dismantling your own portrait put up as to remind others, including the one you've given full authority to carry on with your duty.
Unless you mean a complete LEAVE!
That's exactly happens to Zahid Hamidi's portrait in Umno meeting room. And the media players were fast enough to conclude that he will be gone for good, as the party's president.
The media was abuzz with the development, some said deputy president Mohamad Hasan is be Umno's No.1 very soon. Some even spelt rumours that Zahid has ordered a few lorries to ferry his things back to Bagan Datuk.
Crap! Crap! Crap!
They got it wrong. They don't actually know what is taking placeù. I don't blame them either because their reports were only based on assumption and hearsay. But if they are smart enough to do some diggings, they probably would discover the truth.
Nothing to do with the portrait, actually. Its not the right one. Umno got a better portrait or picture. Zahid is also of the opinion that an Umno logo is supposed to be there and not his portrait.
That's the only bruhaha. That it happened a day after he announced that Tok Mat will resume the president' duty, it cooked into so many stories.
Then came another Zahid-related story,
The resignation of Ibrahim Yahaha aka Tiger as Utusan's executive director and editor-in-chief gained fast attention from the media, notably the pro-Pakatan ones. Their assumption was almost alike - that Ibrahim left the board because his close relation with Zahid, and since Zahid is on leave and soon to relinquish his position, Tiger was left with no choice but to resign.
It was well dramatised?!
Being a political appointee fits him into the domino theory, they claimed.
Another short-sighted reporting. Had they knew how Ibrahim was 'bullied' by some seniors and ex-Utusan board member, their story would have been different. But again, they failed (or just lazy) to find out the whole truth.
All these are not justified. Far from being fair to Zahid and Ibrahim, they sensationalised the whole thing. The bottom line is, their news sell!
Go back to Zahid's office at Menara Dato' Onn, everything is still in place. Do speak to Tiger about his one week stint at Utusan.
Come on guys, journalists are professionals. Unless you wanna be like that bluffing reporter of Der Spiegel!
