Nurul Izzah Rafizi Should Debate Media Should Organise

With Nurul Izzah Anwar contesting against Rafizi Ramli for the PKR deputy presidency, a party leader has urged both leaders to have an open debate.
ADSPKR Youth vice-chief Prasanth Kumar Brakasam also opined that media outlets such as Malaysiakini should organise the debate.
Prasanth said it would be the best platform for both leaders to engage their party members and delegates on their ideas and formula to strengthen PKR, Pakatan Harapan, and the coalition government.
“As a party that celebrates freedom of expression, PKR must make debates part of our system.
“This is not about finding faults in Rafizi or Nurul Izzah, or for them to attack each other.
“Instead, the debate will allow members an opportunity to assess who will be the best candidate to work with party president Anwar Ibrahim,” he told Malaysiakini.
The upcoming PKR polls come amid a looming transition phase, with Anwar serving in his last term as party chief.
The election of the party’s top leadership will take place between May 22 and 24 in Johor Bahru.
‘Win 80 seats’
Prasanth, who will be defending his PKR Youth vice-chief post, said delegates are also eager to know what both leaders have to offer.
“Many PKR members want to know our strategy to win marginal seats in the 16th general election.
“For example, PKR vice-president aspirant R Ramanan recently claimed that Nurul Izzah can help PKR win 80 parliamentary seats.
“So, let’s see their plans in the debate, and I hope Nurul Izzah and Rafizi will agree to it,” he added. - Mkini
