During the meeting, Anwar said he emphasised on the new scope of duties for the relevant ministries, while welcoming the latest members of his government.
“At the meeting, we also conveyed our gratitude to the former human resources minister V Sivakumar for his contributions.”
In reshuffling his Cabinet, Anwar announced the appointments of second finance minister Amir Hamzah Azizan, digital minister Gobind Singh Deo, plantation and commodities minister Johari Ghani, health minister Dzulkefly Ahmad and human resources minister Steven Sim.
The shake-up also saw some changes in portfolios and the splitting of the communications and digital as well as natural resources, environment and climate change ministries. - FMT
