 The Sabah State elections of 29 November 2025 are over. No single party or coalition won the simple majority of 37 seats to form the government by itself.
The GRS which won 29 seats has formed the government at about 2 am this morning (Sunday 30th Nov) together with UPKO (3 seats) and the FIVE Independents  with the barest minimum of 37 seats - a razor thin majority of only one seat.
This is a highly unstable government. Because in Sabah, with such a razor thin majority there is always the threat of ADUN Katakan doing the "lumpatan dance".  
 


So lets see if the government can last. 


 
The party to watch is Warisan which won 25 seats. More importantly Warisan secured the highest number of the total votes cast ie 288,703 of the 1.13 mil votes. Although they won 29 seats the GRS received lesser total votes ie 286,389 votes.The BN got 44,584 votes. 
The PH received 75,938 votes. 
The PN got 41,584 votes.UMNO contested 41 seats but only won  5  seats. That is only 12% success - actually FAIL. And in the five seats they won UMNO's margins included 77 votes, 153 votes, 643 votes, 1 seat over 1k votes,  1 seat over 2k votes. That is a dismal performance.PKR contested 14 seats but won in only one seat Meaning only 7% success, also FAIL grade. And PKR won that single seat with a majority of 525 votes only. If it had rained yesterday I believe PKR would have won ZERO seats. And here may I congratulate that young man the Wira of Gaya Street (yellow circle below) whose viral video has helped to sink PKR.


 
My good friend from Sempoerna Dato RUJI BIN UBI (we worked together in the same office at the NEAC circa 2001, he later became the KSU of Home Affairs) lost in Merotai for PKR.
Bersatu contested in 33 seats but won 0. (I am still a member of Bersatu Lembah Pantai).

DAP contested seven seats and lost all seven seats.
Ok here is the real beef.
The easy ones first - Bersatu needs to reset. Bersatu seriously needs new leadership. Tan Sri Muhyiddin has served the party well and Bersatu has already produced TWO prime ministers. If there is going to be a third Bersatu prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin has to step aside for his deputy Dato Sri Hamzah Zainuddin to take over. Time is short and Bersatu has to mend itself quickly and move forward.The DAP, PKR and UMNO have been wiped out. 
DAP listen carefully. The DAP has lost its Chinese support base. Completely. I dont think the Chinese voters were disappointed with the DAP over Sabah affairs because the DAP did not play a dominant role in the government in Sabah - the Chinese voters know that.  The Sabah Chinese people have all voted against the DAP for the party's failures in Putrajaya. The DAP has screwed up big time in Putrajaya.And like the DAP, the PKR is now also a non-starter - both in Sabah and in Putrajaya.The both of you are going to get kicked out. Since 2018 Malaysian politics has entered the era of 'Lets kick them out'.You do not deliver you get kicked out.Do read that wonderful piece of writing from The Coverage that went viral yesterday.  The DAP must memorise that piece.
But here is how the DAP can bounce back. Your fortunes are in Putrajaya where you have at least 12 months of tenure left. 
1. Abolish the toll roads. Get rid of the tolls, especially the intracity tolls in the Klang Valley.  Over six million Malaysian who vote all over the country, live and work in Kuala Lumpur, in the Klang Valley and Selangor. We all suffer those really bloodsucking intra city tolls. You abolish those tolls and you will not get kicked out.
Abolish all the toll highways. They have been collecting tolls since 1982 (KL - Seremban), ie for  43 years already. That is insane.  Abolish the tolls. 
2.  Remove (not reduce but remove) the APs and the excessive taxes, duties, levies etc on imported cars. Car prices must come down to match world market levels. Why are Malaysians still paying two, three times world market prices for imported cars?
That new regulation that imported EVs cannot be sold below RM100,000 is also stupid. You will lose the elections because of stupid regulations like these. 
The public is not going to be fooled by that new "cheapest" EV. Market talk is that the battery is good for less than 300 km range. BYD's smallest EV has a range of over 400 km. The people will know that they are being shortchanged again.
3. Abolish the really outdated Sedition Act. You did it once in 2018 - but Gobind Singh only 'abolished' the Sedition Act for a few weeks. Then they put it back. This time abolish the Sedition Act permanently. Abolish that Section 233 or whatever of the MCMC Act. Do it urgently.


Tell that minister of propaganda to stop arresting people for their online comments on Facebook or Twitter or X or Meta or whatever. It has gone beyond ridiculous. All this costs you votes. The people are fed up with all this crap.

Hello DAP, you are still the single largest party in gomen with your 40 Parliamentary seats. But do you have balls? Ada telor kah? Use your 40 seats to do something good for the people.
Otherwise you are going to get kicked out.
Remember this, since 2018 the politics in the country has changed. This is now the age of 'Lets Kick Them Out'.


 You just got kicked out in Sabah. Next you will get kicked out from Putrajaya. Adios.
