Netizen Goes Viral Showing Close Proximity To The Colossal Fire In Putra Heights

LOOKING at this video, people would assume it was a scene in Gaza or a battlefield in Ukraine.
Unfortunately, this is Malaysia, or more specifically a residential unit near the epicentre of the recent conflagration involving the burst Petronas gas piping.
Debris could be seen scattered across the compound, and a turn in the video showed part of the roof being torn off. All the while, the colossal fire roared in the distance, like a terrible storm.
Observing the proximity of the video recorder to the disaster, netizens could only shake their heads and wonder why the person did not put as much distance as possible from the flames.
“Horrific. Why are you still there? Faster go out as the fire may spread,” said @HilmieAbAziz.
Netizen @hzwnzkry highlighted the video recorder’s lack of self preservation instincts with this simple comment:

@azfarfahmie added that he could feel the heat even at the side of the highway. He could not imagine being near to the scene of the incident.
Echoing his words were @Amirul_Ammar who showed a picture where a car could be seen melting. To this, @m2mdohkun replied that cars contain quite a lot of hard plastic.

Perhaps the winning comment goes to @Neykann, saying, “It is like hanging out at the side of a volcano.”

Since it was Raya, @theservant301 added that the flames could have been caused by a fire work since people were going crazy setting off fireworks during this year’s celebration.
@Iamraffffffff also lamented the fact that those who return from their village will find their homes being destroyed. Raya has always been a happy occasion, but likely not for them.
Prompted by the video, @Terunatahanlama warned that it was very dangerous living near underground gas pipes. He further hoped the damages could be claimed from Petronas Gas Malaysia.

Now with the one-of-a-kind incident, will homes near gas pipelines depreciate in value? Future home buyers may demand information on whether a property is located within the proximity of a gas pipeline system. — Focus Malaysia
