Najib S Special Treatment Claims Man Lodges Report Wants Police To Probe
A businessperson lodged a police report earlier today over the claims that there was a conspiracy to accord special treatment to former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak, who is now being jailed at the Kajang Prison.
Syeikh Fahmi Syeikh Jaafar, who lodged the report at Petaling Jaya police station, urged the police to investigate the claims and arrest those involved in the alleged conspiracy.
"I read a social media post on Twitter claiming that Najib was given the codename 'Merpati' (pigeon), that he had faked his illness and was accorded special treatment compared to other prisoners.
"If such claims are true, the government should have not spent much of its funds on Najib as he is a prisoner.
"This evil conspiracy to give special treatment to Najib clearly shows that there is an element of power abuse and breach of trust by senior government officials including the prime minister, health minister, Health Ministry directors, senior government servants, the Prison Department, and others. This needs to be investigated by the police," he said.
Syeikh Fahmi was referring to an anonymous message on social media which claimed that Najib had been given special treatment in the Kajang Prison, where the former prime minister was sent to undergo his 12-year jail sentence after being convicted in the SRC International case.
The message also claimed that Najib's prison cell had been renovated and that there was a plan to transfer him to the Cheras Rehabilitation Hospital (CRH) which would allegedly give him better access to visitors and VIP facilities.
Syeikh Fahmi was accompanied by Pejuang lawyers Akif Rusli, Muhammad Rafique Rashid Ali and Muhammad Fakhruddin Nasraldin.
He added that the probe should not be focusing on finding the people who revealed information about Najib but to find the truth and get those responsible for giving special treatment to Najib.
Najib was sent to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital last week after he was said to have suffered from a stomach ulcer and high blood pressure, before being transferred to CRH on Monday.
Earlier today, the hospital in a statement said doctors have given Najib medical clearance to be discharged from the hospital and be sent back to prison. - Mkini
