Muhyiddin No Need To Dispute Pas Loyalty Within Pn
Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin at the ‘Jualan Prihatin Rakyat’ programme. - NSTP/Essa Abu YaminPAGOH: There is no need to dispute Pas' loyalty in Perikatan Nasional (PN) as the party has been with Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) since the start of the coalition's formation, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said.
The PN chairman said: "Pas is a founding party of PN which until now it remains so. So don't dispute, don't question Pas' loyalty and steadfastness with PN.
"We have just finished holding a 'muzakarah' (discussion) with Pas and we have tabled the resolution and the total commitment of the parties in PN," he said.
Muhyiddin said this during a press conference after officiating Perikatan Nasional's 'Jualan Prihatin Rakyat' at Dataran Pagoh Jaya, near here, today.
Meanwhile, on allegation that Pas was mulling to join Barisan Nasional (BN) and not PN in the Johor state election, he said the situation in Johor was different and the coalition has adopted a final decision on the matter.
"In Johor, it is not so, because everything has been finalised and it means we (PN) have decided the seats that we will contest on behalf of PN, not under the name of Pas, Bersatu or Gerakan.
"We (PN) know who the enemy we have to face. Everything has been resolved, so, it's not an issue that arises among us," he said.
On the distribution of seats between the PN component parties which will involve 56 State Assembly constituencies, Muhyiddin said it will be completed this week.
He is hopeful that the component parties would be able to provide full focus in winning in their areas in the upcoming state election.
Meanwhile, the Pagoh Member of Parliament said the 'Jualan Prihatin Rakyat' programme will be extended to four or other areas in the state soon as part of PN's efforts to help ease the burden of the people. - NST
