Mohamad Sabu Brands Pas And Abdul Hadi Awang As Biggest Liars In The World
Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) president Mohamad Sabu has called Pas and its president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang as the 'biggest liars in the world'. - BERNAMA PicALOR STAR: Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) president Mohamad Sabu has called Pas and its president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang as the 'biggest liars in the world'.
In a run up campaign for the upcoming state election in Kuala Kedah last night, Mohamad claimed that Pas' success in winning a large number of seats in the 15th General Election (GE15) was achieved by creating a false perception against Pakatan Harapan (PH).
"In GE15, Pas won big because Pas as a party, is the biggest liar in the world.
"The biggest liar is its president Abdul Hadi Awang. He is an ulama (Islamic cleric) but in his ripe old age he has become a liar and the Malays believed his lies," claimed Mohamad in his ceramah at Karnival Jelajah Perpaduan here.
The former Pas deputy president further claimed that that among others, the party had created false perceptions against PH by accusing DAP of being communists.
Mohamad, who is also the Agriculture and Food Security minister, questioned his former party's alleged lavish spending in the GE15.
"The young voters are trapped by the lies based on false perception created by Pas.
"I wonder where did they get such huge funding. With cash and lies, they (Pas) trapped the Malays. Pas is living on lies," he claimed.
In the GE15 held in November, Perikatan Nasional (PN) comprising of Pas and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) won 74 parliamentary seats.
Pas won 43 parliamentary seats – the highest number of seats ever won by the Islamist party in history.
It was a huge jump from 18 parliamentary seats won by the party in the previous general election.
In Kedah, PN won 14 parliamentary seats, leaving just the Sungai Petani seat to PH while BN was entirely wiped out in the race, losing its only two seats; Padang Terap and Baling won in GE14.
Pas also led the charge to capture Perlis, overthrowing the Barisan Nasional (BN) government which has been ruling the state since Independence over 60 years ago.
With the success, Pas is now governing four states namely Perlis, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu.
Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Md Nor recently said PN was confident to win 33 out of 36 state seats in the upcoming state polls that are due to be held anytime now before the current term expires by July. - NST
