Mobile Vaccination Programme In Lenggong Well Received By Public

The Covid-19 Vaccination Outreach Programme at Dataran Amanjaya, Pekan Lawin which was conducted on a trailer, received an encouraging response from the public.
A check by Bernama found that the vaccine administration process to recipients from rural areas, conducted on the Taiping Mobile Dental Clinic trailer, was running smoothly and the initiative was seen as very effective in assisting the Lawin residents to get access to information as well as registration and vaccination services.
Perak deputy health director (Dental) Dr Nama Bibi Saerah Abd Karim said a total of 311 individuals from the target group had been successfully vaccinated since yesterday morning, comprising the elderly, persons with disabilities and those with health problems.
“This is the first time we conduct the vaccination programme on a trailer. We received the name list from rural clinics, health clinics and village heads, and in fact, the health staff are already familiar with the residents here,” she told reporters today.
She said the trailer would be used again in the outreach programme at Felda Lawin Selatan tomorrow before heading to Felda Lawin Utara on Tuesday.
According to Dr Nama Bibi Saerah, another trailer belonging to the Hilir Perak Mobile Dental Clinic and a bus in the Kinta district would also be mobilised for the programme in rural areas soon.
“Carrying out the vaccination process on this trailer is more comfortable because it is air-conditioned and the process runs very fast. We hope more people will come forward to take up the vaccine,” she said.
Meanwhile, a senior citizen, Abdul Malik Zupi, 62, said he was happy to get his first dose of the vaccine through today’s programme which he described as very helpful to the residents of Felda Papulut which is located far from the town.
The Felda settler hoped that the outreach programme could be continued in the future as it would make it easier for the residents to get the vaccine.
“I have been waiting for a long time to get the Covid-19 vaccine, so I advise the community not to listen to people who are anti-vaccine because this vaccine is good for personal safety," he added.
