Mn Invites Ppbm Not Zahid Or Hadi Personally
SO MANY confusions over an invitation to Bersatu to become part of Muafakat Nasional. Some blamed it on UMNO president Zahid Hamidi and not few criticised Hadi Awang of PAS. For all that I know, 98 per cent of the comments on the social media were made on anger, frustration and misiformation.
When Bersatu boss Muhyiddin Yassin made an announcement on August 15 that the ruling party will join MN, there were dissatisfaction at the grassroots level of UMNO who accused Zahid of inviting the prime minister and gang. On PAS side, they were quite supportive of the idea.
Look. It wasn't Zahid or UMNO or even PAS who invited them personally. It was MUAFAKAT NASIONAL. They have a joint-committee which has discussions and meetings regularly to formulate agendas in strengthening the political cooperation and finding the best ways to further bring closer the main Malay parties in the country.
They have a committee to decide the political future of the Malays and Malaysia as a whole. Why the confusion and disgruntled feeling among UMNO members (and some leaders)?
MN had on August 13 sat down together to decide as to whether invite Bersatu into MN as UMNO had earlier made it clear it won't doin Perikatan Nasional as its component since it is already a component in the Barisan Nasional.
A decision was reached unanimously that MN should extent its invitation to Bersatu provided that sincerity and transparency are observed. Since the Malays were drifting apart over decades, especially when too many parties claimed superiority working for the Malay agendas, how nice would it be should all these parties come together as one.
It wasn't Zahid who invited Bersatu, nor did Hadi. The resolution passed at the meeting also concluded that Bersatu should embrace what were being practice by MN and for the party to respect and recognise the main thrust of the pact.
So, MN invited Bersatu officially. Also attended the meeting were UMNO deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan and PAS' Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man. Both Zahid and Hadi signed the letter of invitation witnessed by their respective deputy and others.
Where did Zahid go wrong? Why ridiculed him and Hadi? Some even questioned PAS sincerity in Muafakat Nasional since it joined Perikatan Nasional when it was registered. PAS did that as it was not a member of any coalition.
Come on folks. When we appoint a committee members, leave them to do the job. It's like electing a division chief to lead us, we shouldn't be discontented unreasonably. As for the MN committee, do they have to refer to millions member of both parties?
Some may argue that Bersatu is a splinter group of UMNO. Yes, no doubt about it but as an instance, Gerakan was also a splinter group of MCA when they were together in Barisan Nasional. So were IPF and MIC. What's the big deal when everything meant good for each and every one of us?
Be practical and sensible. Zahid is a person who doesnt seek personal glory. He thinks of the Malay future. Having Bersatu in MN will hurt some people for a while but time will show when the three parties succeeded in erecting a formidable political fortress for the Malays and Malaysians, away from the politics of 'clans' like Pakatan Harapan.
After all, MN and PN were the manifestation of rakyat frustration during 22-month of PH rule. Don't you think so?
It's now or never. Zahid, Hadi and Muhyiddin are not perfect but one thing for sure, they have vision for their own countrymen. If Tun Mahathir broke his spell with DAP for decades and met in PH, and when UMNO and PAS managed to put behind all bitter pas that separated them, who not in MN?
They are now together in PN and later will meet in MN. They are all there to stop PH, DAP and the politics of the rascals. Why can't you accept it? Unless you want PH to rule again!
Just bury the hatchet. In politics, we win some and we lose some. Why can't we have pride in a stronger Muafakat Nasional?
