Mic S Exit Threat Comical And Confused Says Umno Firebrand

UMNO Supreme Council member Lokman Adam has unleashed a blistering attack on MIC, branding its threatened departure from BN as nothing more than a couple of frustrated leaders who failed to secure positions in the Unity Government, dressing up bruised egos as party principle.
He welcomed MIC’s openness about leaving BN, saying it was a relief that MIC had finally stepped out of the shadows.
He said it was logical that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim did not give any Cabinet posts to MIC members.
“They signed statutory declarations in their loyalty towards Dato’ Seri Hishammuddin Hussein,” he said in a video that was posted on X on Friday, adding that there were concerns they would leak government decisions to opponents.
“Better honesty now than pretending loyalty while leaking every whisper of the Unity Government to PN as double agent,” he added.
The UMNO firebrand mocked MIC’s electoral track record, insisting that for decades, MIC’s victories came in friendly, majority-safe constituencies handed to them by BN, and scoffed at any notion that PN would magically gift them a buffet of winnable seats.
Lokman altogether ridiculed MIC’s sudden wait-and-see pause after a dramatic break-up announcement.
“What makes MIC’s drama even more comical is its sudden wait-and-see stance. After announcing the breakup with great fanfare, now they put their decision on hold. Leaving, not leaving, maybe leaving. MIC’s internal GPS seems permanently recalculating,” he wrote on his Facebook page.
Dismissing claims that MIC’s exit spells the end of BN’s multiracial identity, he asserted that UMNO remains the kingmaker in Malaysian politics whether they like it or not.
Wrapping up his broadside, Lokman warned, “Regardless of how MIC tries to repackage its narrative now, the bitter aftertaste from its indecision, posturing, and opportunistic maneuvering will remain. That stain is something no press statement, no U-turn, and no last-minute reconciliation can erase.”
The salvo has intensified speculation about imminent realignments within the long-ruling coalition. — Focus Malaysia
