Malaysia Rebuffs Pakistan S Bid To Halt Indian Delegation S Visit Report
Pakistan’s alleged attempt to disrupt the visit of an Indian parliamentary delegation to Malaysia, citing Islamic solidarity, was firmly rejected by the Malaysian government, according to unnamed sources quoted by India's NDTV.
ADSThe report stated that the Pakistan High Commission allegedly lobbied Malaysian authorities to cancel the delegation’s engagements, but the attempt was unsuccessful.
The visit to Kuala Lumpur went ahead in full, with the delegation receiving complete support, in what NDTV described as a significant diplomatic rebuff to Islamabad.
NDTV reported that the entourage was led by Janata Dal (United) MP Sanjay Jha and also included BJP MPs Aparajita Sarangi, Brij Lal, Pradan Baruah and Hemang Joshi, as well as National General Secretary of All India Trinamool's Abhishek Banerjee, Communist Party of India (Marxist) MP John Brittas, Indian congress' Salman Khurshid, and former diplomat Mohan Kumar.

Screengrab of a viral video showing bombing in PakistanNDTV reported sources saying that Pakistan had raised the Kashmir issue in its arguments, but failed to gain any traction with Malaysian officials.
The report said that the Indian delegation also visited Indonesia, South Korea, Japan, and Singapore as part of a broader diplomatic effort to counter Pakistan’s narrative following the deadly Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 27 civilians, and India’s retaliatory Operation Sindoor.
The group returned to India today.
During their time here, the Indian lawmakers also gave a media briefing on India's position in fighting cross-border terrorism under Operation Sindoor.
Free Malaysia Today reported Jha saying that India is seeking to put Pakistan back on the grey list of the Financial Action Task Force, an international watchdog against money laundering and financing of terrorism.
Jha reportedly claimed that the Indian government has evidence that points to Pakistan’s alleged connection with terrorist activities.
“We request countries out there, including Malaysia, to support us,” he said.
Peacebroker between India and Pakistan
In a Facebook post last month, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim offered to help broker peace between India and Pakistan amid escalating tensions between the neighbours following the deadly attack in Pahalgam, a popular tourist destination.
ADS"We believe our close ties with both Pakistan and India place us in a position to support efforts towards regional peace and stability,” he wrote.
However, a prominent Indian media organisation took aim at Anwar over his remarks on the growing tensions between India and Pakistan.
Firstpost criticised both Iran and Malaysia for offering to mediate, arguing that neither nation is neutral, and therefore unqualified to act as peace brokers.
“The terror attack happened in India, but Malaysia understands Pakistan’s difficulties… These are not neutral mediators; they have taken Pakistan’s side quite frequently,” said journalist Palki Sharma.
She pointed out that Malaysia does not seem to recognise India’s sovereignty over Jammu and Kashmir when Anwar called the region “India-administered Kashmir”.
Sharma also stressed that India does not require mediation, reiterating New Delhi’s long-standing stance that Kashmir is a bilateral issue -one to be resolved exclusively between India and Pakistan. - Mkini
