Malacca Pkr Leader Rejects Nepotism Claim Tells Latheefa To Quit

Malacca PKR vice-chairperson G Rajendran has rejected the party's central committee leader Latheefa Koya's claims of nepotism and croynism in the party
Rajendran instead claimed that Latheefa was making such allegations as her "favourite leaders are losing control" in the party
"Since Anwar Ibrahim took over the PKR presidency, Latheefa seems to have gotten uncomfortable, and very critical of the party, especially of Anwar, and his wife (former president) Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail
"Looks like she is not comfortable with some leaders losing power, causing her to allege the practice of nepotism and cronyism in the choosing of state PKR chiefs," Gajendran told Malaysiakini when contacted
"When the majority of appointees were from (PKR deputy president) Mohamed Azmin Ali's camp, there was no problem. Now, when it's from another camp, she cries of cronyism and nepotism. What kind of leader is this? It's better for her to quit the party," he added
The “other camp” refers to leaders aligned to former PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli, who mounted an unsuccessful challenge against Azmin for the deputy presidency in the recent party polls
Leaders accepted by grassrootsRather than cronyism, Rajendran claimed that PKR appointments are instead favourable to the choice of the grassroots
As he pointed out, some leaders are not nationally prominent, but are well-liked in their respective states. "Let the leadership do its job. If you don't like, please quit. There are now parties collecting 'rubbish'. Go to other parties, and let the party dedicated to reform, do just that," he said
Earlier today, Latheefa in a statement, slammed the appointments of PKR state chiefs as being in favour of one of the two main factions in PKR
Dubbing the appointments as "disturbing, and a cause for grave concern", the lawyer also, among others, cited the appointment of Anwar's daughter Nurul Izzah as the Penang chief as reeking of nepotism.
Nurul Izzah has since announced that she is relinquishing her position as the Penang PKR chief, as well as the PKR vice-president
She will also quit her position as the head of the federal government's Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) taskforce, but will remain as Permatang Pauh MP
Besides Nurul, Pasir Gudang MP Hassan Karim has also declined his appointment as the Johor PKR chief, saying it was the right thing to do since it was disputed. - Mkini
