Mahfuz Shocked By Lokman S Revelation Over Umno Pas And Najib

Amanah vice-president Mahfuz Omar today expressed shock over revelations by Umno supreme council member Lokman Adam involving PAS and former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak
Mahfuz said Lokman had revealed that Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had allegedly wanted to work with Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad
According to Lokman, Zahid wanted to "save" Umno and did not want the party to be “left behind”
Zahid also allegedly wanted to work with Mahathir because PAS also wanted to do so

"I am shocked. Is this PAS' stand
"Is it true that PAS would work with Mahathir if Umno and Najib were part of the deal?" Mahfuz asked
Mahfuz said if this were indeed true, PAS members would be trapped by such a deal
"How can they still support someone who has clearly used the country's money but later says he did not know where the money came from," said the Pokok Sena MP
Mahfuz was referring to Najib who is currently facing multiple corruption charges in court over the 1MDB scandal
Ahmad Zahid HamidiLokman had revealed that Zahid had said that the problems facing “Bossku” (Najib) could not be solved without collaborating with Mahathir
Zahid had reportedly further claimed that there were efforts to deregister Umno, and such a move would only cause party members join PAS
"Zahid's move was to preempt PAS as he feared Umno would have to struggle alone in the current political battle against Pakatan Harapan," said Mahfuz
Mahfuz's remarks came after attending a town hall session with unionists and human resources representatives in Seberang Jaya
At the press conference later, Mahfuz said technical and vocational education training (TVET) will help the country reduce its dependence on foreign labour, especially in the unskilled category
"Malaysia will ensure only a 15 percent foreign workers quota in the workforce"
The country currently has about 1.99 million registered foreign workers with a majority of them are in the construction, manufacturing and plantation sectors. - Mkini
