Macc Denies Leaving Mas Ermieyati S Name From Recipients Of 1mdb Funds

PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has denied leaving out the name of Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin from the list of 80 individuals and entities that is being issued with compound notices for receiving money from 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).Its chief commissioner Latheefa Koya said the list of those fined is not exhaustive and the latest move by the MACC is against individuals who received RM500,000 and more."The MACC's approach is to give priority to cases where the money involved is in large amounts and not other matters," said Latheefa in a statement on Thursday (Oct 10).Her statement follows claims that the commission had dropped the name of Mas Ermieyati, who is Masjid Tanah MP, from the list of 80 who had received money from 1MDB.Latheefa said that MACC will continue to take action to recover monies belonging to 1MDB.On Monday (Oct 7), MACC announced that it will serve compound notices to 80 individuals and entities comprising companies, political parties and organisations which had received RM420mil from 1MDB.Those who have been served the notices are given two weeks to pay the fine - ranging from as low as the amount they had received or 2.5 times more.The commission had named Pontian MP and former deputy minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan, former Johor Baru MP Tan Sri Shahrir Samad, Kota Baru Umno chief Tan Sri Fatmi Salleh and former CIMB chairman Datuk Seri Nazir Razak as among individuals who had received money from 1MDB.Among companies that have been slapped with the notice are Solar Shine Sdn Bhd, Salt Media Sdn Bhd, Cense Media Sdn Bhd, Red Bag Industry Sdn Bhd, Theora Niaga, Institut Terjemahan & Buku Malaysia Bhd, Fanisa Consultancy & Services, and Airmarine (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd.
