POLITICAL commentator Lim Sian See has taken to Facebook to question Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s silence over a leaked video allegedly involving dirty money linked to a prominent businessman known for his involvement in gambling and government contracts.
In his post, Lim said the video, purportedly featuring PKR Wangsa Maju division chief, suggested that illicit funds were funneled into PKR through Anwar himself, with alleged instructions that the money not be banked in or audited to avoid tracing it back to him.
“The PKR division chief hasn’t denied the voice is his, only claiming the video was edited,” Lim wrote.
“If the claims are false, why hasn’t Anwar taken action or issued a denial?” he wondered.
Lim also criticised the lack of response from the mainstream media, alleging journalists were avoiding the issue.
“No one dares to ask PMX directly. It’s as if there’s a ‘top-down order’ to stay silent,” he added.
Last week, a leaked video allegedly involving the PKR Wangsa Maju branch chief, Lai Chen Heng, has sparked a political firestorm, with PAS Information Chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari demanding a public explanation from Anwar over claims of illicit funding linked to the ruling party.
The controversy, which surfaced over a week ago, has raised serious questions about transparency and integrity within PKR and the Madani government.
“If there is no prompt official denial or open explanation from Anwar or the top PKR leadership, massive police reports are likely to be lodged nationwide against PMX to demand a fair and transparent investigation,” the Pasir Mas MP  pointed out in a media statement a week ago.
Observers have noted the conspicuous silence from both Anwar and the media.
Note that the allegations remain unverified, and no conclusive evidence has been presented to substantiate the claims made in the video.
