Let S See Who Goes Crazy In Court Akmal To Sue Mca Man
Firebrand Umno Youth chief Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh has identified a new target - an MCA local councillor in Johor.
According to him, Law Yiak Kwang, who is reportedly Johor MCA deputy publicity chief, allegedly posted remarks disparaging Malays on Facebook in Chinese.
Akmal said that when translated into Bahasa Malaysia, the post read “Melayu gila/kuda gila (crazy Malays/crazy horse)”.
He claimed when this was exposed, Law later said he was referring to Akmal, as the Umno Youth leader “acts without using his head”.
However, Akmal pointed out that his name was not mentioned in the earlier post.
“This is a very serious accusation. First, for myself, who is being accused of always acting without using my head.
“Secondly, if what has been translated referring to the statement ‘crazy Malays’ is true, then this is a statement that insults the Malay people as a whole,” he added in a Facebook post.
Law’s FB post
In a lengthy Facebook post on Friday, Law denied using the “Melayu gila” and claimed his posting was mistranslated.
“The phrase ‘Melayu gila’ is a translation that does not reflect the true meaning of the term ‘癫马’ that I used.
“The term ‘癫马’ has been translated in a biased manner by irresponsible parties trying to incite racial sentiments.
“The word ‘癫’ can mean ‘crazy’. Sometimes, this word can also be used to describe someone’s irrational or unreasonable behaviour,” he added.
According to Law, social media users commonly use the Chinese characters ‘癫马’ to describe Akmal.
Law Yiak Kwang“‘Akmal’ is translated into Chinese as ‘阿克马’ with the character ‘马’ at the end. The term ‘癫马’ means ‘Akmal who always acts irrationally’.
“Conclusion, the term ‘癫马’ is not ‘crazy Malays’.
“I hope my detailed clarification here can provide a thorough explanation to my friends and all the people of Malaysia whom I respect. I hope that my friends do not misunderstand my stance, as I have always respected all races in Malaysia, due to a mistranslation of a word,” he added.
‘See you in court’
Akmal said he would instruct his and Umno Youth’s lawyers to initiate legal action against Law.
“We’ll see who will be the one without sense in court and who will go crazy later. See you in court,” he added.
Akmal also roped in MCA president Wee Ka Siong, asking him to “look into Law and not to allow him to become so ignorant”.
Wee Ka SiongPreviously, Akmal opened fire on Johor MCA over its statement which compared allocations for Islamic-related matters with the lack of free tolls during Chinese New Year.
He demanded an apology within 24 hours, failing which police reports would be lodged.
Subsequently, Johor MCA deleted the statement from its social media, apologised, and blamed the “unintentional” action of one of its Facebook administrators. - Mkini
