Kl Tower To Resume Operations Soon Fahmi
Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil said the government has not received any official update from the new management of the Kuala Lumpur Tower regarding its reopening.
However, he assured that efforts are underway to ensure the tower resumes operations soon.
“I have not received any official update from the management, and I’ve requested the Communications Ministry to ensure that KL Tower can be reopened as soon as possible,” he told a press conference after the cabinet meeting in Putrajaya today.
“There are several aspects we need to consider, especially that the telecommunications transmitters on the tower continue to function properly.
“But we hope it will reopen in the near future,” he added.
Fahmi, who is also the government spokesperson, said the public should understand that the tower is currently undergoing upgrading and maintenance work to address safety and comfort issues for visitors.

Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil“KL Tower is an important national structure and categorised as a sensitive location as it houses key transmission facilities that remain operational,” the Lembah Pantai MP said.
Prioritising safety, comfort
He stressed that public safety and comfort remain top priorities before they could consider reopening the tower.
“We hope that all the improvement and maintenance works mentioned previously can be completed soon so the public can once again enjoy the uniqueness of KL Tower in a safe and comfortable manner,” Fahmi said.
On April 17, the Communications Ministry announced that KL Tower would be temporarily closed to visitors as the government is enforcing a takeover of its management concession from a previous operator appointed during a past administration.
In a statement announcing the closure, the Communications Ministry stressed that the iconic tower belongs to the government and its operations, management, and maintenance have been taken over by LSH Service Master Sdn Bhd since April 1.
The ministry claimed that the previous operator, Menara Kuala Lumpur Sdn Bhd (MKLSB), has been illegally occupying the premises since March 31. - Mkini
