Kj Needs More Time To Consider Offers From Political Suitors

Former Umno leader Khairy Jamaluddin said he needs more time to consider offers he has received to join political parties.
The former health minister said he does not want to rush into a decision just because the six state elections are around the corner.
"When we have a second chance to choose a political party, I don't want to take the matter lightly.
"I don't want to decide just because the state elections are around the corner, 'I want to contest, be a candidate, therefore I choose'.
"I want to choose (a party) willingly because the party represents my values and political stance," he said during his “Keluar Sekejap” podcast this evening.
Khairy said this while commenting on Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin's open offer for the former Rembau MP to join the party and take up a supreme council position.
Khairy added that if he were to make a decision on that, he would relay it to Muhyiddin in person first as a form of courtesy.
"I'm not saying no to Muhyiddin's offer, but I want to clarify that this is a very difficult decision to make," he said.
Khairy said he had also received offers to join other political parties but added it was up to those parties to go public with their invitations.
The former Umno Youth chief was axed from Umno in January during a purge of party president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi's rivals.
After that, Khairy said that he and his co-host Shahril Sufian Hamdan, who was handed a six-year suspension from Umno during the purge, had planned to take a long break from active politics.
However, he said as politicians, there are always temptations to go back into the ring, especially when other politicians are egging them to do so.
Asked by Shahril whether he would contest in the six state elections, Khairy replied that he was undecided. - Mkini
