Keep Info On Jho Low Tight To Prevent Him Evading Arrest

Any latest information on the whereabouts of fugitive businessperson Jho Low should be kept within those investigating to prevent him from evading arrest again, Deputy Home Minister Azis Jamman said
Speaking to reporters today, Azis said he believed that police investigators working on the case have all the information to get hold of the 1MDB-linked figure
"We do not rule out this possibility (of information leak to Low). That is why if there is new information, it is better for us to keep it within the police
"Because we do not want to be saying that we know he is in China (for example), and when he hears this, he will relocate again
"It is better for us to leave it to the investigators to carry out the probe, and I am quite sure they have all the information that they need to catch Jho Low," Azis told a press conference at the Royal Malaysian Police College in Cheras this morning
He was there to launch a one-day seminar titled 'Corruption-Free Integrity Enhancement Seminar for Police Officers', which was participated by some 500 high-ranking officers
Azis said this in response to a journalist who asked whether the ministry and police have addressed the issue of sabotage within the government, which was said to have been the reason behind Jho Low's ability to evade arrest so far
Last month, Bernama reported Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad as saying that sabotage from within the government was among reasons why Jho Low has managed to evade arrest
The home minister told Parliament on Tuesday that Malaysian authorities have obtainedthe latest information on Jho Low's whereabouts, but did not reveal what the information was
At the same press conference today, Inspector-General of Police Fuzi Harun said police have requested mutual legal assistance to identify the real owners of jewellery seized during the probe into 1MDB
"We are taking action on this by liaising with related parties, including those who are overseas
"Mutual legal assistance is ongoing. Police are working on this at the moment," Fuzi said.It was reported that two jewellers based in Abu Dhabi and Lebanon have laid claims to the jewellery, worth millions in US dollars
These jewellery were purportedly among those that police seized when they raided the residence of former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak and four other locations in Kuala Lumpur. - Mkini
