It’s not personal. Just doing my duty to speak up for my people – that was Segambut MP Hannah Yeoh’s reply when asked about her perceived tiff with Federal Territories Minister Khalid Abdul Samad over the proposed development in Taman Rimba Kiara
Yeoh said she would be explaining everything during a town hall meeting in Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI) Community Centre, Kuala Lumpur on Saturday (May 18) at 9am
“For everyone who is wondering why I fight so hard for this, come along to the town hall tomorrow and let me show you what went wrong and how we can fix this problem for both the longhouse residents and those who love our green lung,” said Yeoh in her Twitter account
On Thursday (May 16), Khalid said he was “very disappointed” with Yeoh for making media statements and presenting facts that were confusing, hurtful and embarrassing to him.

He said she could talk to him directly and get the facts, instead of through the media.

In her statements on the project, which TTDI residentsi strongly objects, Yeoh, through her social media account, took Khalid to task for agreeing to the area’s green lung being taken away.Her solution on the issue is for the whole project to be cancelled – a motion that is strongly supported by TTDI residents
On the other hand, Khalid in earlier discussions told residents that he would reduce the project by half and said that a cabinet paper would be submitted on this.- Star
