Ismail Sabri Use Mysejahtera
PUTRAJAYA: Business outlets should use the MySejahtera app to register customers, to help with better contact tracing in case of Covid-19, says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob
The Senior Minister said there were outlets which did not provide their customers with the MySejahtera QR code, and instead used the QR code for other applications including those managed by state governments
“We urge more business outlets to provide their customers with the QR code for MySejahtera to help the authorities monitor Covid-19 infections, ” he said yesterday
To-date, he said 254,833 business premises used the federal MySejahtera application for registration purposes. The total number of downloads and activations for MySejahtera is 6.2 million
The MySejahtera app was developed by the Federal Government to help manage the Covid-19 outbreak and conduct more effective hotspot tracing in the country
Ismail Sabri also said that foreign workers with valid work permits in Malaysia could get back to work when their sectors resumed operations.“However, the requirement is that the workers must be screened before they can start work, ” he said, adding that the decision was made by the special Cabinet committee
The minister reminded the people that the movement control order (MCO) and regulations under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act was still in force, meaning that standard operating procedures such as on social distancing must be adhered to
Ismail Sabri said many were going about their ways “as if the MCO has been lifted”
“If you go against the SOP, action can and will be taken against you.”On Wednesday, police arrested 68 people, including 28 for pub and nightclub activities which are still prohibited under the recovery MCO, while another 40 were caught for failure to observe social distancing
The minister reminded those under quarantine to follow procedures including isolating themselves.“We had a case where family members were infected by a returnee just because the person did not observe quarantine instructions
“They are not to leave the house during the 14 days. Police will be checking on these people to ensure they take the quarantine order seriously, ” he said
Between June 10 and 15,73 out of 18,778 Malaysians who returned from abroad tested positive for Covid-19. - Star
