Is A Pkr Battle Royale Brewing As Uncowed Rafizi Thwarts Farhash S Cease And Desist Demand

IT gets ugly.
Not only has the syringe attack on former economic minister Datuk Seri Rafizi Rami’s 12-year-old son riveted the nation, fall-out from the violent intimidation seems to be ruffling a few feathers.
In the latest twist, former political secretary to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim-turned-corporate high-flyer Datuk Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak has issued a letter of demand to warn the Pandan MP against linking him to the assault on his only child.
In a Facebook post, the former PKR deputy president said he was ready to defend his claims in court after receiving Frahash’s cease and desist letter which demanded that he stop making statements and apologise for linking a whistleblower whom he met before his son was attacked business dealings involving Farhash.
The letter also demanded that Rafizi issue a full public retraction and apology within 48 hours failing which Farhash reserved the right to initiate legal proceedings, according to mainstream New Straits Times.
Striking a defiant tone on social media, Rafizi vowed to remain unbowed in the face of what he obviously perceives to be tactics to silence the truth.
The 47-year-old’s post has since generated 6.8K likes, 1.1K comments and 458 shares at the time of publication, a testament that the unfolding drama within two PKR top guns have indeed captured public imagination.
One commenter could not conceal his contempt at the perceived laziness and ineffectiveness of the opposition. Isn’t this their job to uncover dirty dealings? Instead, he argued that they were busy stirring up 3R issues (race, royalty and religion), thus forcing the likes of Rafizi to pursue the truth.

Some observers were of the opinion this was all part of a master plan with corporate raider Farhash having fallen into a cleverly laid trap by Rafizi.
This will eventually force Farhash to answer difficult questions in open court, including the identity of his benefactor, claimed one commenter.

Rafizi was also applauded for going after wrongdoers regardless of party affiliation, a trait that strengthens his credentials as an impartial seeker of truth and justice.

It must be pointed out that the syringe attack on Rafizi’s offspring and this ensuing legal drama has had a positive impact on the ousted PKR leader’s public persona.

While it is no way insinuated that the entire episode has been manufactured by Rafizi, it cannot be denied that his approval ratings are seeing a positive upturn.
This unfolding legal drama – coupled with Rafizi giving up his ministerial portfolio after being defeated in party polls – has painted the Malay College Kuala Kangsar alumni as a principled and defiant politician.
Will it be enough to see his star rise again? Perhaps.
Meanwhile the nation remains riveted as two scions of PKR go head-to-head in a feud that is turning both ugly and vicious. Prepare the coke and popcorn!
