Interpol Seeks More Information On Muhyiddin S Son In Law S Case
(FMT) – Interpol has requested for more information in relation to Bukit Aman’s application for a Red Notice for Muhyiddin Yassin’s son-in-law, Adlan Berhan, and his lawyer, Mansoor Saat.
Deputy Inspector-General of Police Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said the police are waiting for the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to furnish them with details on the case against Adlan.
While Ayob did not disclose details of the information requested by Interpol, he said it involved “technical matters”.
Adlan and Mansoor are being sought by MACC to assist in an investigation into a project involving the registration, recruitment and storage of foreign worker biometric data at a ministry.
MACC was previously reported to have said that they had left the country in May.
However, both Adlan and Mansoor subsequently issued statements through their lawyers denying that they were on the run from the law.
Meanwhile, Ayob said the police are wrapping up their investigation into Ipoh Timor MP Howard Lee, who had been accused of making his own interpretation of a Quranic verse in a video posted on social media.
Ayob said the case is being investigated under Section 505(c) of the Penal Code for intent to incite and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act (CMA) for the improper use of network facilities or services.
“We are in the midst of completing the investigation paper and we will submit it to the attorney-general’s office,” he said.
Lee, who is being investigated over the video, apologised for his actions on Tuesday and said he did not interpret the Quran.
Instead, the DAP central executive committee member said he had only cited a verse from the Quran.
