Indian Lady Fined Several Times For Doing Business In Little India Unable To Get Licence Approval

LIFE is unfair. While a certain politician, which we do not want to name, is enjoying a comfortable life in prison for stealing billions, there are the poor on the streets, being fined just for setting up a food stall.
Recently, a video came to light where an Indian lady could be seen complaining to a Kuala Lumpur Municipal Council (DBKL) officer that she had gone to DBKL about ten times to get approval to do business.
According to her, she also made her license submission nearly two years ago.
“We only want the opportunity to do business in an area which is owned by our community,” she said, adding that she had no idea what to do and would appreciate some help.
Even in the video, it could be seen that the DBKL officers were completely clueless about what to do. They looked stumped, or were running away from the camera lens.
The lady said that at the DBKL office, she was also being directed to several floors, an endeavour that ended with nothing to show. It was akin to a wild goose chase.
To add salt to the wound, the lady claimed she had been fined several times by DBKL too. Hopefully this video will serve as a wake up call to improve efficiency in DBKL in terms of license approval.
On the other hand, there are two sides to the story so it would be great if DBKL could clarify the situation.
After all, anyone can point out that you are liable to be fined if you do business before getting approval in the first place. — Focus Malaysia
