Idris Replaces Razman As Perak Pas Commissioner

Former minister and PAS vice-president Idris Ahmad has been appointed as the new Perak PAS commissioner, replacing Perak opposition chief Razman Zakaria.
Yesterday, Razman congratulated his successor in a Facebook post, expressing confidence in the latter’s leadership and prior experience.
“He (Idris) is a leader with extensive experience in politics and national administration, including serving as PAS vice-president, minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (religious affairs), alongside various party responsibilities.
“I am confident that under his leadership, Perak PAS will continue to be guided towards greater success, strengthening the lines of struggle, and further uplifting the dignity of Islam in this state,” he said.
ADSRazman (above, right), who previously held the position of Perak PAS commissioner for the past 13 years, also announced that he has been appointed to the party’s central committee and expressed gratitude to president Abdul Hadi Awang for entrusting him with the responsibility.
On Sept 16, Razman, alongside Perlis Menteri Besar Shukri Ramli, were among prominent PAS leaders who had lost in the run for the party’s 18 central leadership committee posts.
Perlis Menteri Besar Shukri RamliThe PAS top leadership election for the 2025-2027 term saw party information chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari finishing at the top after garnering 1,096 votes from a total of 1,220 delegates.
Kedah Menteri Besar Sanusi Nor came in second with 1,062 votes, followed by Kedah exco member Haim Hilman Abdullah (1,028 votes).
Former Umno leader Shahidan Kassim, who joined the party in June 2023 and was subsequently appointed to the central leadership committee, secured the 14th spot with 717 votes.
The election only saw a competition for the committee posts, as the top five positions have been won uncontested by their incumbents. 
They are PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang, deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, and vice-presidents Idris Ahmad, Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, and Amar Abdullah. - Mkini
