The 4.40pm landslide took place on a slope at the back of a row of houses, affecting at least five houses.
It is learnt the occupants of the affected houses have all evacuated on the advice of authorities and are temporarily seeking shelter at friends and relatives' houses.
A city Fire and Rescue Department spokesman confirmed the incident and said remedial works were still ongoing.
"So far, no one is injured in the landslide and as an immediate action, we have asked all of them to evacuate the houses since it is still raining," he said.
Firemen are also evaluating the stability of the soil on the slope, before allowing the five families to return to their houses.
In a video, the firemen were seen rerouting the gushing water to flow in a different direction, away from the rear portions of the houses.
The spokesman said another landslide also occurred in Jalan 1/127, Taman Happy Garden, at around the same time but fortunately did not involve any building or casualty.
"We received a call at about 5.10pm and upon arriving at the scene, firemen noticed that the landslide also involved a high slope.
"No houses were affected," he said, adding that the site has been covered with canvas to avoid further soil erosion. - NST
