Guan Eng Hopes Selangor Dap S Unity Discipline Will Convince Malacca Voters

DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng hopes Selangor DAP could lead by example and show discipline so that Malacca voters will have more confidence in supporting DAP and Pakatan Harapan.
Lim described the upcoming state election as a hard fight for Harapan, saying that the two seats that Selangor DAP has been tasked to help out with are not easy.
“DAP Selangor is responsible for two seats - in Kesidang we still have some chance of winning but in Pengkalan Batu it’s a bit hard.
“If today we can show our discipline, I believe Selangor DAP could convince the Malacca voters to be with DAP and Harapan,” said Lim when opening the Selangor DAP 2021 Ordinary State Convention in Shah Alam today.


The convention, which was conducted in Shah Alam Convention Centre, was attended by 1,116 delegates from 218 branches throughout the state.

The delegates will elect their state leaders from 51 candidates. Only 15 leaders would be elected as Selangor DAP committee members for the next three years.
After that, the 15 committee members will nominate and elect the state chairperson and other positions in the second round of polling.
The state poll is expected to be intense as it is reported that the incumbent state chief Gobind will be challenged by incumbent state secretary Ronnie Liu and his team.


Lim added that DAP will use the Harapan logo in the peninsula during the 15th general election.
“We have started in the Malacca state election (using Harapan logo), we will use it throughout Peninsular Malaysia for GE15 except for Sabah and Sarawak. Because they have (the power of) autonomy, they will decide whether to use the DAP rocket logo or a joint logo,” said Lim. - Mkini
