Group Comes To Pm S Office With Memo Calling For Waytha S Sacking

Gerakan Pembela Ummah (Ummah) said Waytha was to blame for the death of fireman Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim, two weeks after he was assaulted by a mob during a violent protest outside the Sri Maha Mariamman temple in Subang Jaya last month
In its memorandum, Mahathir was also urged to sack Human Resources Minister M Kulasegaran, one of several ministers who joined Waytha in accusing police of not acting quickly to stop an attack on the temple
“We also want to ask the Prime Minister to whisper to Selangor Menteri Besar (Aminudin Shari) to sack Ganabatirau,” the group’s chairman Aminuddin Yahya said alluding to Selangor exco V Ganabatirau
He said this during a protest after Friday prayers at the Putra Mosque here
Some 200 people later marched to the Prime Minister’s Office to hand over the memorandum to Mahathir’s political secretary Abu Bakar Yahya
Ummah said Waytha, Kula and Ganabatirau should be investigated under the Sedition Act for instigating hatred among races
They also demanded an apology from the Save Seafield Sri Maha Mariamman Temple taskforce for claiming that Adib was not assaulted but was hit by a fire engine
Adib died on Dec 17, more than two weeks after the incident, and police have reclassified the case as murder
In PENANG, around 100 people demonstrated outside a mosque against the minister
The group gathered outside Masjid Jamek Hashim Yahaya on Perak Road after Friday prayers and demanded justice for Adib
Chants of “hancur Waytha”, “hancur kuffar” and “takbir” were heard, together with insults against a Seafield temple priest, who claimed Adib was mowed down by a fire engine that was backing up
Others expressed disappointment over police inaction against those who instigated violence against the fireman
They recited the al-Fatihah for Adib and expressed their solidarity for the fireman. - FMT
