Groom Goes Viral For Really Scrimping On Wedding Celebration

AND we thought the only challenge a couple will ever have is between their significant others.
Then come the in-laws to make things even more complicated than what it already is. Perhaps a recent viral video proves the point where the groom skipped the wedding feast, likely in an attempt to save cost.
Netizen @kiniviral who posted the video said that if the woman could accept such a level of cheapness, then the groom has no right to have a bad behaviour.
Tolong eh , kalau perempuan boleh terima kau sampai tahap macamni mintak tolong kau jangan buat perangai je. sebab tak semua perempuan boleh terima majlis macamni pic.twitter.com/sEPpkZxY6e

The Internet has since erupted, with netizens divided on whether a costly wedding feast was justified. A good many females defended the groom, saying that they were completely fine without a feast.
However, it was the parents who wanted it, likely out of fear of being shamed by their relatives.

“This is my dream wedding. But my mom would not allow it. She will want to invite everyone including those family members that they rarely see, and also her friends from school which she just knew last night,” said @nabilashuuu sarcastically.
Echoing her thoughts was @karuamai who said this was an introvert’s dream wedding.

Netizen @FahmiKhairull, however, said that this was not a matter of can or cannot, but it was strange.
Also, @ariff9267 pointed out that the men are very fortunate to have such a woman. “Hopefully their marriage will last until the end of their lives,” he said.
Another netizen pointed out that this was encouraged in Islam. “But we Malays think tradition is more important,” he said.
However, @XHoneyde believed that weddings should not be easy for the guys or else they will not feel the loss when he leaves the woman.
@XHoneyde recommends that the ladies ask for a high dowry so he will remember all the hardship required to get the money.

“If you have a lot of money then it is ok to make a big wedding. But in my humble opinion, I don’t get the need to spend more than RM20k for a one day event if you are struggling to find money. You can use it for something more beneficial,” said @naqiwonder. — Focus Malaysia
