Fraser Hill The Right Place For Lover Nature Find Amazing Bird
GUNUNG TAHAN, FRASER'S HILL is the highest peak of Peninsular Malaysia at 2.187 meters.
It is the central feature of Taman Negara and a destination for mountaineers who begin their ascent from nearby Kuala Tahan, where the headquarters of the park is situated.
Mount Tahan is arguably harder to complete than the more famous and much higher Mount Kinabalu (4.095 meters) in Sabah. This is because of Mount Tahan's relatively remote location, entailing almost a week-long trek to its foot.
This route to the foot of the mountain is just over 100 km long and involves making one's way through low lying primary jungle and across wide and fast-moving rivers. The accumulated physical and mental challenge of carrying food. shelter and water for a week in the jungle with frequent river crossing make it very challenging, even for the most seasoned mountain climber. So strong kness, fitness and determination are a must!
FRASER'S HILL
About 116km to the west of Gunung Tahan-Peninsular Malagsia's tallest point - is Fraser's Hill. This was a favourite hill station resort for English planters in olden days. Now, it's a first-class bird watching destination and a perfect spot to unwind.
Fraser's Hill has over 270 species of local and migratory birds flocking together so be sure to bring a good pair of binoculars! Pine Tree Hill is one of most recommended spots for bird watching. To get there, one one has to hike for a full day on Pine Tree trail which is over 5km. Starting at the cul de sac high Pine Road near Seri Intan private bungalow, this trail is definetely for high physical fitness hikers. The slope is steep and most parts feature undulations.
Wether a stay over or day outing, picnicking is always a great choice. Cool climate adds to the joy of sitting outdoors, being one with nature while enjoying the tasty delight of grill, BBQs and steamboats
