While the viral Maggi Malam, which saw people making long beeline at the side of the road to just eat maggi, is still going strong, here is another mind-boggling trend.
According to a post on X by netizen amighul deghaman, there is a trending F&B business model where customers need to bring their own bag of nachos to the stall.
Additional ingredients will then be added into it, culminating with a whopping price of RM15. Many netizens condemned the concept, saying that it was foolish or downright cutthroat.
In the video, the man could be seen adding four scoops of “homemade” cheese sauce, followed by “homemade” coleslaw and “homemade” tomatoes.
Everything appears to be “homemade” in the video. The man further added 100g of “home made” minced beef and a couple of “homemade” sauces into the mix before handing it over to the customers.
Listening to the use of the word “homemade” so many times, Netizen Zie sarcastically said that the onion leaves must be homemade too.
Another netizen said he hates it very much when a seller abuses the word “homemade.”
“It’s not a secret recipe that is hard to copy. Like in the video, tomatoes smashed with coleslaw only?” he added.
One netizen said such sellers usually claim that they have mixed Latino blood and that the recipe for their homemade sauces originate from their grandfathers from Guadalajara.
Netizen 𝗎/𝖭𝗂𝗅𝖾𝖹𝗂𝖾𝗅𝖾𝗋 pointed out that the nachos BBQ beef near me’nate costs only RM19.90. Also, the portion was so huge that it had to be brought back.
“This is foolishness on a huge level where you have to bring your own nachos,” said 𝗎/𝖭𝗂𝗅𝖾𝖹𝗂𝖾𝗅𝖾𝗋.
Soy Halima shared that the concept originally came from the United States.
“It’s not just nachos, but salad too. The seller added minced meat, vegetables and sauce, and the portion was huge, filling up the container.”
Soy Halima declined to comment on the portion and price of the meal in this video but her opinion was clear with her remark, “Well, willing buyer, willing seller. All the best.”
Now that we have heard it from the netizens, does the concept of bringing your own bag of nachos appeal to you?
With the many “homemade” words being thrown around in the video, our appetite has tanked somewhat.
“Homemade” for us is all about staying home and getting busy in the kitchen, and that is exactly what we will do. — Focus Malaysia
