(Facebook pic)PETALING JAYA: The Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) will roll out a series of integrated waste management plants (IWMP) on its land schemes costing RM10 billion over the next 30 years to drive sustainability in its operations.
Split into three phases, Felda expects to commence the pilot projects in the first quarter of 2024 in the Johor Bahru region, namely at the Felda Adela, Felda Air Tawar and Felda Tenggaroh schemes.
The investment cost is expected to be in the region of RM200-RM300 million per site.

The process will involve the collection of farm waste, food waste, and solid waste from the Felda schemes.
Felda and Greentech Axis Bhd signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) today to develop such an IWMP at one of the Felda schemes in Johor.
Through an effective waste separation process, the facility will be able to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and help fight climate change, said Greentech, a landfill management solutions provider.
Greentech CEO Mohamad Feardaus Khairuddin said it had conducted a preliminary site study at the Felda Adela, Felda Air Tawar and Felda Tenggaroh schemes.
“This collaboration will benefit the local population and the surrounding areas through employment opportunities, and can further increase the awareness of recycling,” he added.
