Tuan Ibrahim Reformasi A Waste Of Time Energy

JOHOR BY-ELECTIONS | The reformasi movement fought for more than 20 years is a waste of time and energy, said PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man.
According to him, the struggle turned out to be not for the nation, but personal interests of certain quarters.
"How many voters have been cheated by leaders who made empty promises?
"We were involved in the reformasi movement, we got tear gassed and arrested. How many of us spent time and energy taking to the streets?" Tuan Ibrahim (above) said in his speech at Perikatan Nasional's grand finale ceramah session in Simpang Jeram, Muar, last night.
Also present were Kelantan Menteri Besar Nassuruddin Daud, Selangor PN chairperson Mohamed Azmin Ali, former Ketereh MP Annuar Musa, Johor PAS commissioner Abdullah Hussin, as well as Rembia assemblyperson Muhammad Jailani Khamis, who is from Umno.
Elaborating, Tuan Ibrahim claimed the personal interests of certain quarters have taken over the original goal of the reformasi struggle.
Although Tuan Ibrahim did not mention names, he was believed to be referring to the discharge not amounting to an acquittal (DNAA) granted to Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi in the Yayasan Akalbudi corruption case.
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has denied any involvement in the Attorney-General's Chambers (AGC) decision to withdraw all 47 charges against the Umno president and said the matter was decided by the attorney-general.
Tuan Ibrahim claimed that steps towards the withdrawal were allegedly set in motion with the sacking of vocal Umno leaders, prior to last year's general election.
"In Perlis, Shahidan Kassim was removed, in Selangor, Noh Omar was sidelined. Why? Because Umno shouldn’t win bigger (more seats) than Pakatan Harapan, only then Anwar will become the prime minister.
"If PN wins big, Ismail Sabri Yaakob would have become prime minister," he claimed.

Speaking at the same event, Nassuruddin urged the voters in the Simpang Jeram state constituency and Pulai parliamentary constituency to choose corrupt-free leaders, not ones who free the corrupt.

He further urged voters to choose the PN candidate in both constituencies to teach Umno-BN a lesson.
"We all know voters rejected Umno in the last state elections, especially in Kelantan, where they only won one out of 45 state seats.
"Is this because there are no Umno members in Kelantan? There are, but Kelantan folk do not support Umno due to its terrible performance.
“So, if Umno members want to see changes in their party, they have to vote for PN.
"Only then, Umno leaders will realise that voters want corrupt-free leaders, and not those who release the corrupt," said the PAS leader.
Azmin later took to the stage to dub Anwar's reformasi struggle as “reformati” (dead reforms) movement.
Selangor Perikatan Nasional chief Azmin Ali"I have known him (Anwar) for a long time. He wears reforms as a facade but his reforms are long buried, as there are no attempts to rehabilitate the country's economy and elevate the people's status."
Azmin then urged voters to not fear PAS and PN.
"What you need to fear are robbers and the corrupt, and leaders who are insincere in leading the country and its people,” the former minister said.
The Election Commission has set tomorrow as polling day for both the Pulai and Simpang Jeram by-elections.
The vacancy was caused following the death of Amanah deputy president, the late Salahuddin Ayub. - Mkini
