Amanah Reiterates Don T Allow Green Wave To Enter Johor
JOHOR BY-ELECTIONS | Amanah president Mohamad Sabu has reiterated his call not to allow the ‘Green Wave’ to enter Johor during the two by-elections in the state tomorrow.
He said this is to stop what he describes as extremist and radical politics from gaining a foothold there.
“Prioritise unity. Do not allow extremists to enter Johor and expand their influence.
“Maintain this unity. We can have differing political views; that's fine. But don’t say you’re destined for hell, and we’re destined for heaven. Who holds the keys to heaven and hell
“Do not allow such elements to enter Johor,” he said during a ceramah at Dataran Cenderawasih in Muar tonight, as part of the Simpang Jeram by-election campaign.
Mohamad, who is also the agriculture and food security minister, stated that only Allah has the right to determine heaven and hell. Humanity’s duty is to strive to be righteous individuals and leave the judgment to Allah.
On Aug 26, BN chairperson Ahmad Zahid Hamidi struck a similar tone when addressing Umno’s election machinery for the Simpang Jeram by-election.
PAS gains in the state, he said, should stop with the Maharani state assembly seat – the only seat won by PAS in the Johor assembly during last year’s general election.
Johor Menteri Besar Onn Hafiz Ghazi shared the same sentiment, emphasising the importance of preventing PAS from expanding its presence in the state.
“Earlier, the president met with Bakri Umno and reminded us of the importance of defending to the end. We will not allow them to establish themselves in Johor,” he said.
Perikatan Nasional holds three seats in Johor: two for Bersatu and one for PAS, namely Bukit Kepong, Endau, and Maharani. - Mkini
