(Facebook pic).PETALING JAYA: A group of Federal Territory MPs received their Covid-19 vaccinations today at the Kuala Lumpur health clinic, “despite rumours of risks”.
Seputeh MP Teresa Kok said they felt it was proper to be vaccinated, despite the rumours of risks, to convince the rest of society that it was safe to do so.
“It is now more than 8 hours since my vaccination and I am feeling OK, except for some slight soreness from the jab,” she said on Facebook this evening.
Members of Parliament are among those given priority in being vaccinated in the first phase of the national immunisation programme that began this month.
She said other Federal Territory MPs who received the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine today were Tan Kok Wai (Cheras), Fong Kui Lun (Bukit Bintang), Lim Lip Eng (Kepong), Hannah Yeoh (Segambut), Dr Tan Yee Kew (Wangsa Maju), Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad (Setiawangsa), Fahmi Fadzil (Lembah Pantai), P Prabakaran (Batu).
Former health minister Dzulkefly Ahmad (MP for Kuala Selangor) and former human resources minister M Kula Segaran (Ipoh Barat) also took their shots.
Kok said they also met deputy foreign minister Kamaruddin Jaafar (MP for Bandar Tun Razak), former higher education minister Idris Jusoh (Besut) and former deputy prime minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi (Bagan Datuk) at the clinic.
“I hope more vaccines will be available faster to get more people vaccinated in order to achieve herd immunity,” she said. “Everyone of us must contribute to a Covid-free community.” - FMT
