Farhash Yet To Turn Himself In

Three men suspected to have been involved in a brawl in Ampang on Merdeka night have turned themselves in to help police with investigations, but main suspect, Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak, is still at large.
Selangor CID chief Senior Asst Comm Fadzil Ahmat said the men aged between 26 and 35 presented themselves yesterday morning at the Ampang Jaya district police headquarters.
“All three of them are muay thai coaches, and they will be remanded to aid investigations,” he said, adding that one of the men is also wanted by the Cheras district police for a drug offence, and has a criminal record, while the other two are clean.
SAC Fadzil said police are still tracing Farhash’s whereabouts, and has urged the Perak PKR chief to turn himself in.
Earlier, Farhash, who is also PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s political secretary, said he would aid police in their investigations into the Aug 31 incident after he was made aware of a police report on the matter, in which his brother was also named.
The fight started when a man pushed another at a sports complex in Ampang.
The management was able to stop the fight from taking place in the building, but the two men met again at the venue’s motorcycle parking lot, and were later joined by 10 others who attacked the victim with helmets, knives and chairs.
SAC Fadzil said the victim’s friends tried their best to help but failed, and the victim suffered injuries to his waist and genitals.
The case is being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code for possessing weapons or missiles at a riot.
Separately, PKR central committee member Datuk Zakaria Abdul Hamid said Farhash should face disciplinary action for allegedly breaking the law.
“It is as if there is some kind of immunity for certain parties to act like gangsters repeatedly but continue to be protected.
“This is not the first time Farhash was alleged to have been involved in illegal activities. Such arrogance in disrespecting the laws must be stopped immediately as it tarnishes the good name of the party and the president.
“The disciplinary committee should investigate this quickly without any favouritism, and stern action must be taken to uphold the dignity of the party and ensure that all party members portray a noble character.
“If this situation is not contained, I fear that this will become common behaviour and infiltrate to other levels,” said Zakaria, who is Bera PKR division chief.
