Exorbitant Kindergarten Fees Take The Limelight Online Netizens Are Divided Over It

THE standard of living is going up, and it is more than just sugar and eggs, but even the education system.
Recently, a post on X went viral for highlighting the exorbitant fees for sending one’s child to an Islamic kindergarten, or more specifically Pusat Asuhan Tunas Islam (PASTI) in Titiwangsa.
From the image attached to the post, it can be observed that six years of education amounts to RM1,200. Too much? Netizens were divided over it, with some comparing it to the Kemas kindergarten.
🅂🅈🄰🄼🄸🅁8584 who brought the issue to light added that the high fees is a mismatch to the low salary given to the teachers.

According to one netizen, the fees were similar to the other kindergartens out there, but PASTI was from the PAS political party.
“It is more expensive than Kemas but many people are sending their children to PASTI. Kemas is under the government so of course it is cheaper,” said Suhel.
Silencer Muto claimed that PASTI was previously exclusive for PAS members but it was now open to the public.

Esc₳peTheM₳trix further pointed out that all the money received by PASTI, which was not sponsored by the government, needs to be used to pay off the salary of the teacher as well as rental of the premise.
“You want teachers to have a high pay? Then the fees must be expensive too,” he said.

The topic took a turn into politics where some netizens claimed that PASTI fees were in fact cheap, being privately owned.
However, the main issue was that people were attacking PASTI for its relationship with PAS. Several netizens also claimed that the fees from PASTI were different according to location.

Then there was nlfitriahz who said PASTI also has a category for the elites. “The normal PASTI fees is at RM50 to RM80 only. With the elite PASTI, the price is something like this. The syllabus is also different and there are many benefits,” said nlfitriahz.

To remedy the situation, Peace & Profit suggested an alternative in the form of Tadika Perpaduan where the entry fee was RM40, followed by a monthly of RM20, complete with meals and uniforms.

Also, Gashina pointed out that the government-run preschools were free of charge, and that applications are open on Mar 1. —Focus Malaysia
