The finance ministry says full-time e-hailing drivers will be eligible for more than the 300-litre RON95 limit, while registered boat operators are being identified.
The finance ministry said more than three million users have benefitted from the BUDI95 initiative since its phased rollout began on Sept 27.PETALING JAYA: The government has agreed to grant full-time e-hailing drivers additional subsidised RON95 fuel quota
Registered boat operators will also be eligible to be part of the BUDI95 programme.
In a statement today, the finance ministry said full-time e-hailing drivers would be eligible for more than the 300-litre RON95 limit by mid-October.
“E-hailing drivers do not need to apply individually. The government will coordinate with e-hailing operators for group applications,” it said.
The ministry said registered boat operators would be eligible to take part in the BUDI95 programme, without the need of an active driving licence.
“The government is working with relevant state agencies, such as the Sarawak Rivers Board and the Sabah ports and harbours department, to identify registered boat operators,” it said.
It also said the 300-litre limit for each citizen had been reset today as the system refreshes at the start of each new month for eligible Malaysians.
As of 6pm today, total transactions under the programme reached about RM84.2 million, equivalent to more than 42.3 million litres of subsidised RON95. The government has, therefore, provided a subsidy of RM27.8 million.
Since the phased rollout of BUDI95 began on Sept 27, more than three million users have benefitted from the initiative.
“The total of subsidised petrol transactions recorded is RM255.6 million, involving 128.4 million litres of petrol, with RM67 million in subsidies channelled by the government,” the ministry said. - FMT
